WeBuy is an ICO that is changing the world of online commerce, enabling SMEs to start selling online at minimal cost. Read on for our interview with the CMO. 

When did you first get into Bitcoin and why?

Amazing question, the first Bitcoin that I bought personally was back in 2010 and why? Because I did believe the World deserves a better way of living and at this time the BTC was for me a first step of this evolution.

Where did the inspiration for your ICO come from?

We had this idea from a real problem we had a couple of years ago when we were looking for furniture for our little office. We wanted to launch a public tender but due to our size, no shop wanted to compete. With WeBuy every individual can launch a tender (SellMe) and gets shops fighting for him/her.

How will your business make money in the future?

WeBuy is platform where SMBs buy ads’ credit that are distributed to the engaged Buyers. The platform takes a small fee on the top.

How big is your team at the moment?

Around 15 full-time team members.

What is the idea behind your ICO?

First of all, we don’t do an ICO but an Initial Token Offering. We are not crypto-oriented but blockchain oriented. Our Token is a right to buy ads for Sellers and to buy stuff for Buyers. Our ITO is one of the instrument we will use to finance our project.

Can you walk us through the critical components of your business and how it will work?

WeBuy On-Demand solution enables Buyers to chose when and why they can be reached by Sellers and whether or not they should be reached in the first place. If the Buyer opts to be reached, he gets rewarded for being contacted with no buying commitment. Leveraging geolocational tools, Sellers can control and wisely allocate their ad budgets, ensuring they are targeting the right market. This breakthrough solution eliminates the clogs that has been backing up the system by completely removing the source of this congestion out of play: middlemen.

What was the greatest challenge you have faced so far?

So far, the anti-crypto and the anti-blockchain attitude is our main challenge. In the High Tech, you have two camps right now: pros and antis. There is no nuance. Or you are a crypto speculator or you are a detractor.

Where do you see your business in 5 years time?

Mainly in the communities that need this kind of service in Asia and Africa where WeBuy will help to protect local businesses against globalization and the bad effects of capitalism.

If you were to start again, what would you do differently? Why?

Well it’s a question of feeling. I guess less naivety would have been blessed.

What are the biggest factors that will bring success?

Engagement of the communities, transparency, protection of the users’ data, ethics.

What’s your advice to other ICOs or Bitcoin businesses who are just starting out?

Think why you are doing it. If this is a speculation purpose, stay out of this business. If you do it with a real spirit to fix the way things are done today, go for it and consider the journey and not the goal as a success. Because for me, the ends don’t justify the means!
