Where did the inspiration for your ICO come from?
All of the founders have been in the advertising/media industry in some form for several years; it was clear that there were many issues that needed to be addressed. Blockchain is something that holds tremendous promise for the industry and we figured out something really special in terms of how to scale blockchain.
How will your business make money in the future?
Advertisers pay us a transaction fee to use our blockchain; in return – we give them visibility to where their money is being spent in a way that non-blockchain technology is simply unable to do.
How big is your team at the moment?
10 people full time plus several part timers.
What is the idea behind your ICO?
We have built a scalable blockchain that can be used in many applications; however – our focus is around providing transparency, preventing fraud and providing NetZero payments within the digital programmatic advertising system.
Can you walk us through the critical components of your business and how it will work?
The digital advertising ecosystem is complicated; it has many parts including Demand Side Platforms, Supply Side Platforms, Exchanges and Publishers. Advertisers have no idea where their money is really being spent and our solution allows for us to track every single dollar that is being spent within the ecosystem. Our blockchain integrates with those ad supply chain partners to provide transparency and to prevent fraud.
What was the greatest challenge you have faced so far?
We have already had many strategic partnerships – many companies with multi-billion revenues a year; however – due to the scope of the ecosystem – it will take some time to get integration from the entire system. Some companies simply do not wish to engage in transparency because they fear it will hurt their business. But the status quo is really the biggest threat to the industry.
Where do you see your business in 5 years time?
I think we’ll be a multi-billion company. Period. I believe we’ll not only be the standard in the digital advertising industry but that our blockchain will be applicable to so many industries including financial services. The ability to scale is something that transcends industries.
If you were to start again, what would you do differently? Why?
I wouldn’t do anything differently. Very pleased with our progression.
What are the biggest factors that will bring success?
I suppose it depends on the definition of success. Short term success is predicated upon adoption and partnerships by those within the digital advertising space such as agencies and brands. Long term – our success will be determined by strategic partnerships with companies that aren’t even in the digital advertising space.
What’s your advice to other ICOs or Bitcoin businesses who are just starting out?
Understand why your product really needs blockchain in the first place. How does it make something better, cheaper, faster. Build your product; don’t wait.
